We are pleased to announce that the works of Magdalena Deput and Ion Barbu have been selected for the “Just Transition” art exhibition, which will take place during the Just Transition Platform Conference on 1–2 December 2026 in Brussels.

The organisers recognised the originality of the artistic concepts and the way in which both works reflect the experiences of the transition in the Eastern Wielkopolska community.

The exhibition will feature two projects:

“DOLORES” by Magdalena Deput – portraying the SRs-1800 bucket-wheel excavator as an element of the region’s landscape and the collective memory of its inhabitants.
“Blue Crocodile” by Ion Barbu – giving new meaning to a historic electric locomotive once used in the Konin mine.

Mariusz Harmasz, Vice-President of the Management Board of the Just Transition Culture Foundation, will personally represent the artists collaborating with the Foundation in Brussels.

Paris Beyond the Postcard: Art, the Myth of Bohemia, and a City in Constant Transformation

What really lies behind the legend of Montmartre — the neighbourhood of artists, rebels, and nightlife?

For decades, Paris has attracted artists with the promise of freedom, inspiration, and an extraordinary atmosphere. But the history of artistic bohemia is about more than romantic studios and famous names. It is also a story of industrial suburbs, working-class neighbourhoods, changing social relations, and a culture that has gradually become part of the global tourism industry.

The Paris_EXPRESS project takes us on a journey through the past and present of Montmartre, exploring how urban legends are created and what happens when they collide with reality. It is also a personal story about returning to places, memory, and changing perspectives.

Did the Paris we know from stories about artists ever really exist?
